Leading French automobile manufacturer Renault Auto licensed clips from Brando’s smoldering performance in “On the Waterfront” for a television campaign promoting Renault’s new Clio model. The forward-thinking and highly-stylized spots created by Publicis UK began airing on British broadcast and cable television and in Renault dealer showrooms in February. The spot also features other past and present pop culture mavericks.

In a second international licensing agreement, Getty Images, on behalf of top Italian retailer Liu Jo Jeans, licensed candid imagery of the icon for a print advertising campaign throughout key fashion and lifestyle publications, as well as an expansive in-store point of sale display campaign including posters and counter displays. “

The Marlon Brando image is in a class by itself, continuing to electrify generations of consumers. Prestigious companies in all major product categories are recognizing the unique connection that the Brando image holds with consumers on a global basis,” said Theresa Brown, Vice President at bsp who oversees the Brando program.

“These latest agreements negotiated on behalf of Brando Enterprises by Brand Sense Partners perfectly conform with our mission of identifying opportunities for the benefit of the Brando children that best reflect the actor’s great legacy and his wishes,” said Larry Dressler of Brando Enterprises.
